I almost fell victim to it again – my body was feeling tired, a bit achy. My right knee has been iffy, low back was tight, right shoulder felt worked. My glutes were sore from teaching this kick ass plyometric class last night – plus I had a strong week of weight training.

From all that šŸ‘†šŸ»I questioned my yoga class this morning. How stupid is that?! “Too sore for yoga”?! Get outta here. That’s the biggest oxymoron I can think of. Hah, actually that’s sounds like a damn good excuse!

I go to yoga to check-in. To hear my breath. Feel my body. To open my mind, escape my thoughts, to feel things. I go to yoga because when I leave, l feel euphoric. I have no worries in the world, no weight on my shoulders. No aches or pains. I just feel really good!!

For me, Yoga is more mental than physical. I make it a priority to attend one class a week for my mind to ‘workout’. It allows me to let go of thoughts or areas I’m housing tension. The deep connection of feeling my breath and movement come together allows me to see the bigger picture of how I am presently showing up in my life.

I just told my boyfriend to never let me skip my yoga class! (#NoExcuses) My advice to you- commit to your practice. Sign up for a year at your local studio. It truly is the single best thing you can do for yourself each week.

Now on to tackle the day with a strength training session and a pedicure šŸ’ŖšŸ¼
