Be honest- raise your hand if you’re in pain! Does it prevent you from sleeping well, moving right and getting your workout in?

I raised my hand too. It’s okay! It’s NOT okay if you don’t do anything about it. In May, I went up to Solace to become Pain Free Performance Specialist Certified by Dr. John Rusin.

The basis of this certification is to create a dynamic warm up around eliminating a client’s trigger point of pain. This warm up includes foam rolling, breathing, corrective movements, biphasic stretching, activation and stimulating your nervous system so you can perform at your best. The second part is getting stronger with the foundational movement patterns to optimize strength in order to be conditioned for years to come.

I love the idea of cleaning up weak or painful links on the body to reduce injury and prepare for performance. This certification is one of the the most useful ones I’ve completed since the majority lives in pain.

For our semi private training series this summer, we will be bringing this to our sessions. We will focus on starting our session with work to keep your body moving well and then head into our strength training.

This will not only keep you pain free and moving better, but it will help prepare you mind/muscle connection as well as your connection to breathing and learning about yourself.
